Eighth seed Marcos Giron will on Tuesday face unseeded Botic van de Zandschulp in the first round in Antwerp. It will be their fourth career meeting and we have a prediction for the match.

Giron has defeated van de Zandschulp twice in their three previous meetings. He will hope to extend this as he seeks to wriggle himself from his recent misfortunes.

The American has found it extremely difficult to win matches in recent weeks. In his last eight outings, he managed just two wins. Those were in Shanghai, where he earned a third-round finish.

Despite his inconsistency this year, Giron has had some exciting highlights. In July, he claimed his first career tour title by winning the Hall of Fame Open.

In February, he achieved a runner-up finish on an indoor hard court in Dallas. The 31-year-old starts a new week ranked 47th in the ATP.

Botic van de Zandschulp is also struggling, but has fared a bit better than Giron in recent weeks. The Dutchman, who has compiled a 28-29 record, has earned five wins in his last 10 outings.

He was also present in Shanghai where he exited in the second round. Van de Zandschulp is a strong indoor hard-court player and has earned over 80 wins on the surface.

This year, however, he has struggled on such surfaces and has managed just two wins in six fixtures. The 29-year-old will take comfort in the fact that he won the more recent matchup with Giron.
