Unseeded Marcos Giron bids to cause another upset in the Dallas Open. The American beat top seeded Frances Tiafoe in the last eight and now take on fourth seed Adrian Mannarino. For the winner there's a final against either second seed Tommy Paul or third seeded Ben Shelton. Giron was at 67th in the rankings when this hard court tournament got underway. His run to the last four has seen him climb to 62nd and reaching the final could see him rise as many as ten places higher. It's still below his career high of 49th achieved in 2022. Giron has finally kick-started his year after failing to win a match in his first two tournaments of 2024. That including a first round loss in the Australian Open to Jack Draper. He led two sets to one but only won a couple of games from then on. Giron finally got a win in this tournament and his three victories have all come in straight sets with two seeds being beaten.

Adrian Manarino was in 17th place at the start of this tournament which is a career high but 18th in the live rankings. He's made a steady start to the year and is up to13th in the Live ATP Race, 64 places above Giron. His year started representing France in the United Cup and reaching the semi-finals but only winning one of his four singles matches. He reached the last 16 of the Australian Open but then lost to Novak Djokovic in straight sets. A Davis Cup win was next before heading to Dallas. Mannarino has had a strange route to this semi-final and has only played 12 gamesand played for 52 minutes. He received a walkover against Yoshihito Nishioka and then his quarter final opponent James Duckworth retired when 3-1 down in the second set. He leads Giron 2-1 in previous meetings but both wins came ten years ago  We tip Giron to get the win.
