Marc Polmans takes on Adam Walton in an all-Australian quarter final in the Burnie International Challenger Tour event. The semi-final could see a match against top seeded James Duckworth. Polmans caused an upset in the second round when defeating third seed Max Purcell in three sets. The 25-year-old began this tournament ranked 303rd but three years ago was 112th. He began this year in 334th position but is up to 291st in the live rankings and another win here can see him climb another 18 places. Polmans is in his second Challenger Tour quarter final of the year after doing so also in Canberra last month. He lost in the second qualifying round of the Australian Open. 

Adam Walton was ranked 415th at the start of this Burnie International. That's a career high for the 23-year-old but he's got a new one now. His run to the last eight of this tournament has seen the Australian climb up to 377th and he can make it into the top 350 if beating Polmans. This is his third tournament of the year but he only won one match in his first two. That was a first qualifying round win in the Australian Open beating Pablo Andujar who was ranked 121st at the time. He then lost to Peter Gojowcyzk (ranked 232nd) after winning the first set. This week has seen Walton beat two Japanese players without dropping a set. Back Polmans to get the win here.
