Marc-Andrea Huesler vs Holger Rune Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Munich Open

Holger Rune continues his attempt to win the BMW Open in Munich for the third year in a row. Seeded second, he takes on qualifier Marc-Andrea Huesler in the quarter-finals of this outdoor clay court tournament. In the semi-finals, the winner will face either fourth-seeded Jan-Lennard Struff or Felix-Auger Aliassime who's the fifth seed. Rune is the world number 12 but was as high as fourth last August. This year has seen him have a very consistent year on hard courts. Two semi-finals and one final have been reached so far in 2024. His good form has continued on clay with a run to the quarter-finals in Monte Carlo last week where he lost to Jannik Sinner. This week his one match against Daniel-Elahi Galan saw him win in straight sets.

Marc-Andrea Heusler was ranked 223rd when this tournament began. 14 months ago he was a career-high 47th but struggled for wins on the ATP Tour last year and lost in the first round of every Grand Slam. The Swiss player leads Rune 2-1 in previous meetings and he won their only match on clay two years ago. This year started brightly with a run to the last 16 in Hong Kong but that hard court tournament was the only ATP event in which he's won a main draw match before this week. He has had some success on the Challenger Tour and got to a clay court quarter-final in Madrid last week. It's gone well for him in Munich winning two qualifiers, though he need three sets to beat Jan Choinski. In the main draw he had to come from a set down to beat Marko Topo before a straight sets win over Yannick Hanfmann and is 194th in the live rankings. We tip Rune to win this in straight sets.
