Magdalena Frech vs Emma Navarro Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Monterrey Open

Second seed Emma Navarro faces ninth-seeded Magdalena Frech in the Monterrey Open quarter-finals. For the winner, there's a semi-final against either fifth seed Elina Svitolina or ninth-seeded Linda Noskova. Here's our quarter-final match prediction.

Magdalena Frech was 45th in the latest rankings but has risen to 41st in the live list. That beats her previous career-high of 42nd that was reached in February of this year. The Pole's best form of late has been on clay but this good run in Monterrey comes at a good time with the US Open starting at the weekend.

On hard courts, this year she has reached the last 16 of the Australian Open and also in Dubai.

This week has produced wins over Nadia Podoroska and lucky loser Lina Glushko. Both of those matches went to a final set and in the latter, Frech lost the first set on a tie-break. There was no shock though as she rattled off the next two sets for the loss of four games.

Emma Navarro is the highest remaining seed in this tournament. The American was a career-high 13th in the latest rankings but can move up to 12th if winning this match. One title has been won this year and that was in the Hobart International played in January on a hard court.

On her way to winning the title, Navarro beat Frech in straight sets.That avenged a three-set loss to her at last year's US Open.In addition to her one title, another final has been reached, three semi-finals (two on hard courts) and three quarter-finals (one on this surface).

This week has been a good warm-up for the US Open but she had a tough first match. The American had to come from a set down to get past Camila Osorio. We tip Navarro to win in straight sets.
