She relinquished just two games to her compatriot and now has equaled her best-ever result in Melbourne. Gauff has never gone past the fourth round here and has twice exited the competition at this stage. Last season was one of those times. But with how dominant she has been, the 19-year-old should be confident of breaking this hoodoo. Gauff is up to third in the live ranking.
