An unseeded player will reach the last 16 of the outdoor hard court Miami Open. That's because unseeded Magda Linette faces qualifier Linda Fruhvirtova in this third round match. Who'll reach the last 16? Here's our match prediction.

The winner here will be up against either third seed Coco Gauff or 28th-seeded Maria Sakkari next. Linette is the world number 34 but up to 32 in the live rankings. The Pole beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in round one, and then defeated the 18th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova 7-6 6-2. 

Linette has reached one WTA Tour quarter-final this year, winning nine of her 17 matches..A win here will take her into the last 16 of this tournament for the second time in three years.

These two players are 1-1 in previous meetings (both played on this surface) but haven't met since 2023. Linda Fruhvirtova is ranked 215th and had to qualify to reach the main draw. In her four matches played so far, she has only dropped one set.

In the last round, the 19-year-old  (who reached the fourth round here three years ago) beat out-of-form 16th seed Beatriz Haddad Maia, losing only two games. Fruhvirtova has mainly played in ITF tournaments this year with one semi-final reached.
