Magda Linette vs Caroline Wozniacki Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Australian Open

Caroline Wozniacki continues her impressive comeback to the WTA Tour. The 33-year-old takes on 20th seeded Magda Linette with the winner facing either unseeded Elize Cornet or qualifier Maria Timofeeva in round two. Wozniacki received a wild card for this first Grand Slam of the year and is currently ranked 252nd in the world. The Dane made her return to the tour last year and reached the fourth round of the US Open. This is her first Australian Open since 2020 and it's a tournament she won six years ago. One match has been played by her this year, a straight sets loss to eventual runner-up Eiina Svitolina in Auckland. 

Last year saw Magda Linette make it to the semi-finals of this Grand Slam. The Pole is currently 23rd in the live rankings which is four places below her career high. This year has seen her play in both Brisbane and Adelaide. Her first match of the new year saw her beat Caroline Bucsa but then lose to fifth seeded Daria Kasatkina. In Adelaide, Linette lost in her first match being beaten by Ekaterina Alexandrova in three sets. 2023 didn't end at all well for Linette with her last five matches being lost and her last win came when her opponent Jennifer Brady retired after just four games. Linette might be inspired by a return to this tournament but we tip Wozniacki to get the win.
