Unseeded Madison Keys will seek her second title in Eastbourne when she faces ninth seed Daria Kasatkina in the final on Saturday. Keys defeated fifth seed Cori Gauff in the semifinals while Kasatkina beat Camila Giorgi. Madison Keys won the title here back in 2014. This was the first of her six tour titles to date. She will hope for the same outcome as she returns to the final for the first time since that victory. Two of Key’s six tour titles have been on grass. The American began her grass court campaign at Devonshire Park where she has won all her four rounds without dropping a set. Her win over Gauff took her record for the season to 20 wins and eight losses. Keys has dominated this fixture against Kasatkina and has eight wins out of the 10 times they have met. They have however never played each other on grass. Keys is up four places to number 21 in the live ranking.

Though she has struggled against Keys over the years, Daria Kasatkina has made her presence felt against the American in recent encounters. She has won in two of the last three meetings with the latest victory coming in Charleston earlier this year. The Russian will hope to continue from where she left off against Keys and win her first tour crown on grass. In her only other WTA tour final on grass, Kasatkina lost in Birmingham in 2021. She has won four of the five matches she has played on grass in 2023. Before this season, Kasatkina had never gone past the quarterfinals in Eastbourne. Advancing to the final has seen her move back to the WTA top 10 and is now placed 10th in the live ranking.
