Fifth seed Cori Gauff will on Friday battle the unseeded Madison Keys in the semifinals at Eastbourne International. The winner here will book a final showdown with either ninth-seed Daria Kasatkina or unseeded Camila Giorgi. Madison Keys is through to this round after defeating lucky loser Petra Martic 2-0. The American has won all her three rounds in the competition by straight sets. She began her grass court campaign in Eastbourne and will hope to ride this momentum and claim her first title of the season. Keys has compiled a record of 19 wins and eight losses so far this year. Advancing to this round has moved her up two places to 23rd in the live ranking. Keys defeated Gauff in the first of their three encounters in Adelaide last season.

Cori Gauff has won the last two matches against Keys including earlier this season in Dubai. She will be confident of making it three in a row and advancing to her second final of the season. To book this match against her fellow American, Gauff defeated Jessica Pegula, another compatriot, in straight sets. She is also yet to drop a set in the competition. Gauff is currently ranked seventh in the WTA but another win here will move her up to sixth in the live ranking. The 19-year-old has been in excellent form in 2023 and has compiled a 27-10 record with four of her victories coming on grass.
