Madison Keys should be able to get past Anna Kalinskaya in the Roland Garros first round. Keys has reached a semi-final and quarter final here in the past and got to the Australian Open last four this year. The 22nd seed (also her world ranking) won a title in Adelaide at the start of 2022 and also got the last eight at Indian Wells, losing to Iga Swiatek. Her form on clay in recent weeks hasn't been what she'd have been expecting with only one win in four matches. The American has had some tough draws though with losses to Belinda Bencic and Maria Sakkari.

Ana Kalinskaya is ranked 86th in the world and this is only her second time in the main draw at Roland Garros. Her only previous appearance was in 2020 when losing in straight sets to Eugenie Bouchard. Kalinskaya has a career high ranking of 75th and that was achieved last month. Highlights of her 2022 have included a semi-final in Guadalajara and last 32 in Miamia, where she defeated Karolina Pliskova. Her clay court season hasn't gone well with only one win in four matches played and that was over Marine Partaud who was ranked 394th at the time.
