Madison Brengle vs Ekaterina Alexandrova Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Cleveland Open

Ekaterina Alexandrova is the third seed in the wonderfully named Tennis of the Land tournament in Cleveland, USA. She takes on American Madison Brengle in the second round. The winner of this match faces either seventh seeded Aliaksandra Sasnovich or Sara Sorribes Tormo in the last eight. Alexandrova began this week ranked 28th in the world and is bidding this week to win her second WTA title of the year. The Russian was the winner of the Rosmalen Open in the Netherlands in June beating Aryna Sabalenka in the final. That was a grass court tournament but of course she didn't play Wimbledon this year. The Dutch final was the fourth WTA final of her career, the other three were all in hard court tournaments. There's been one previous match against Brengle and she won that in straight sets but it was played eight years ago.

Madison Brengle is the world number 63 and recently reached the last eight of the Odlum Brown VanOpen, losing to Emma Navarro. Her only WTA singles final was reached seven years ago in New Zealand, losing to Heather Watson. A WTA Challenger title was won last year. 2022 has seen her win two matches in three Grand Slam events, though she did get to the third round of the Miami Masters event. Brengle is 64th in the WTA Race (based on this year's ranking points) and that's 43 places below her opponent. The first round of this tournament saw Brengle defeat Varvara Gracheva in three sets, losing the middle one. Go for Alexandrova to get the win and make it into the quarter finals.
