Mackenzie Mcdonald vs Jannik Sinner Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Washington Citi Open

Jannik Sinner looks set to win his second title of the year. He takes on unseeded Mackenzie McDonald in the final of the Citi Open. Sinner is the fifth seed for this tournament and is up to 18th in the live rankings. Winning this final will take him up to 15th and in terms of ranking points earned this year, he's currently 10th so could well make the end of season ATP Tour Finals. Sinner won a tournament held in Melbourne in January and also got to the final of the Miami Masters. His form dipped a little after that but it's returned this week. Wins have come against Emil Ruusuvuori, 12th seeded Sebastian Korda, Steve Johnson and Jenson Brooksby and all without dropping a set.

Mackenzie McDonald began this tournament as the world number 107.  His run to the final of this tournament has him up to 64th in the live rankings and if beating Sinner, he'll be the world number 52. Not bad for a player who was 194th in the rankings at the start of this year. In terms of ranking points earned in 2021, he's now 30th. Two years ago he was 57th in the rankings but then slipped down them due to injury. Highlights of this year include the last 16 of the Australian Open, winning a Challenger Tour event in Kazhakhstan and the last 16 in Munich. Like his opponent in this final, his form had dipped with three consecutive losses. He's changed that around this week though beating defending champion Nick Kyrgios in round one. That's been followed by wins over 13th seeded Benoit Paire, Iyla Ivashka and Kei Nishikori.  The wins over Paire and Nishikori both went to three sets.  The run looks to be over here though, back Sinner to win the title.
