The penultimate match on Night 8 of the Premier League will see Luke Humphries taking on Chris Dobey on Thursday. Cool Hand Luke is in second place in the league standings, while Hollywood is seventh after seven rounds. Let’s get into the match prediction.

Luke Humphries will be determined to make an impact here in Newcastle this week after bowing out in the quarter-final on each of the last three nights in the Premier League this season. 

Last week, Cool Hand Luke went down 6-4 to Michael van Gerwen, which also marked the third time in a row that he has failed to register more than four winning legs in the competition.

Humphries entered the European Tour 2 earlier this week and notched up wins over Boris Krcmar and Michael Smith, but fell to Nathan Aspinal 6-1 in the quarter-final. He now has six wins and four defeats in his last 10 matches. 

Meanwhile, after reaching the final on night one of this competition, Chris Dobey finally managed to register another Premier League victory last week following five consecutive first-round exits. 

That win came against Stephen Bunting by a scoreline of 6-2, but he was no match for Michael van Gerwen in the semis, with the Dutchman handing him a crushing 6-1 defeat. 

Dobey was also beaten in the first round of the European Tour 2 earlier this week by Jermaine Wattimena, which was his seventh defeat in his last 10 matches across all competitions.
