Lucknow Super Giants vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Prediction & Betting Tips - Indian Premier League
by Devesh Jaganath in Cricket Predictions
Following an entertaining opening round of matches, the IPL 2023 will continue rolling on this week, with the Lucknow Super Giants taking on the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Ekana Sports City on Friday afternoon. The Super Giants have gotten off to a mixed start in this tournament, following up a win in their tournament opener against the Delhi Capitals with a loss against the Chennai Super Kings on Monday, which leaves them in fourth place on the table with two points after their first two matches, and a run rate of +0.950. In their last match, the Super Giants failed to impress with the ball in hand and allowed CSK to post a strong total of 217/7 in their 20 overs. However, they looked a bit better with the bat but came up 12 runs short, scoring 205/7 in their innings. Kyle Mayers has been the best player for the Super Giants so far and top-scored for the second time against CSK, adding 53 runs in 22 balls to go with his 73 from the first match. Having seen their opponent's poor performance in their first match, the Super Kings will be confident that they can come away from this one with a win.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad have only played one match in the tournament so far and got off to the worst possible start, losing comprehensively to the Rajasthan Royals by 72 runs. That loss leaves them at the foot of the table in the early stages with no points and a run rate of -3.600. Bowling first, the Sunrisers were put to the sword by the top order of the Royals in their tournament opener, with each of the top-three batsmen notching up half-centuries on their way to setting a target of 203. There was little to speak of in terms of the Sunriser's bowling, aside from Thangarasu Natarajan, who took two wickets for 23 runs in three overs. As far as their batting performance was concerned, only Abdul Samad managed to put on an inning of any substance, scoring 32 runs in 32 balls, but the contest was well and truly done by the time they got to the last five overs. Based on that first match performance, the Sunrisers will need to improve massively to have any chance in this tournament.

Our Lucknow Super Giants vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Prediction
Based on their first two matches, the Super Giants have shown that their strength this year likely rests in their batting lineup, led by Kyle Mayers, who is currently in second place for the orange cap in the early stages of the tournament. On top of that, the Super Giants will welcome Quintin De Kock to the squad after the South African arrived late for the tournament due to international duty. The Sunrisers were woeful in their opening match and showed very little to suggest that they will be a team to watch this year. Odds of 1.9 for the Super Giants to win look very attractive and is definitely worth a punt. However, we fancy a slightly safer play, while still in the early stages, for the Super Giants to score a fifty in the match with their strong batting lineup. Our Lucknow Super Giants v Sunrisers Hyderabad prediction is for LSG to score a fifty in the match.
