Lucknow Super Giants vs Mumbai Indians Prediction & Betting Tips - Indian Premier League
by Devesh Jaganath | in Cricket Predictions
The Lucknow Super Giants will lock horns with the Mumbai Indians in the second playoff of the Indian Premier League on Wednesday. The winner of this third versus fourth battle will head into the qualifier against either the Gujarat Titans or Chennai Super Kings on Friday. The Super Giants were just edged out for second place by the Chennai Super Kings as a result of a worse net run rate. Both sides finished three points behind the Titans and one point ahead of the Mumbai Indians. LSG secured their place in the knockouts after beating KKR in dramatic fashion in their final group stage match. With that win, LSG qualified with a record of eight wins, five losses, and one no-result. LSG have arguably been the most balanced side up to this stage, with just ten runs separating their top three run-scorers, Marcus Stoinis, Kyle Myers, and Nicholas Pooran. However, they will have to make do without the services of paceman Mark Wood. The Englishman was expected to return to India for the playoffs but has since decided against returning following the birth of his child. Ravi Bishnoi has stepped up in his absence and is now LSG’s leading wicket-taker.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians got their tournament off to a very poor start and lost their first two matches. They bounced back well thereafter, though, winning the next three matches, which took them to six points; however, they couldn’t maintain the momentum and dropped as low as eighth after six matches. Mumbai turned it up in the second half of their group fixtures, clinching five wins in their final seven matches to edge out Rajasthan Royals into fourth. The visitors won their last match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad to record their third win in four matches. The only loss suffered in that time came to this opponent. The contributions of Suryakumar Yadav have been invaluable to Mumbai, as the right-hander is the team's top scorer with 511 runs in 14 innings. Piyush Chawla has been the key figure with ball in hand, taking 20 wickets so far and currently ranked fourth for the purple cap. Mumbai were beaten by just five runs by this opponent earlier this month and will need to increase their level a notch if they want to keep their fifth title hopes alive.

Our Lucknow Super Giants vs Mumbai Indians Prediction
There’s very little to choose between these sides, as we saw in their previous encounter, which went down to the last ball. Mumbai played most of the tournament using Cameron Green in an opening role with very little success. However, since Rohit Sharma promoted himself back to the top with Ishan Kishan, the pair have complimented each other well and have given their side a solid base to build on more often than not. With LSG lacking a regular wicket-taker in their bowling lineup, we could see the Mumbai Indians openers have another good outing in this one. Our Lucknow Super Giants v Mumbai Indians prediction: Mumbai Indians opening partnership to score over 20.5 runs.
