Luciano Darderi will be up against Miomir Kecmanovic in the second round of the BMW Open on Wednesday. This will be the second meeting between the two, and the winner will face Botic van de Zandschulp or Ben Shelton. Read on for our prediction of the match.

The clay swing has found Darderi in impeccable form, and the Italian is making the most of it. Ahead of this event, he claimed the title at the ATP 250 tournament in Marrakech. He’s also given this one a good start, beating Christopher O’Connell in straight sets in the first round.

That was his sixth consecutive win, stretching his season's record to 12-9, with 11 wins being on clay courts.

Kecmanovic, on the other hand, is just getting to settle in the clay season. He suffered a first-round defeat at the hands of Frances Tiafoe at the Monte Carlo Masters.

Here in Munich, he started off better, beating Marcos Giron in three sets in the opening round. There’s reason to be confident about this match, as he has a 1-0 head-to-head advantage over Darderi.

However, with five defeats in the last eight matches, the Serbian will come into this game as the underdog. Kecmanovic has compiled a 14-10 record so far and won one title, at Delray Beach, but on clay he is not a strong player.
