Luciano Darderi vs Flavio Cobolli Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cincinnati Open

Flavio Cobolli takes on Luciano Darderi in round two of the Cincinnati Masters hard court tournament. We're guaranteed an Italian in the last 16 with the winner up against either fifth seed Hubert Hurkacz or qualifier Yoshihito Nishioka. Read our match prediction.

Cobolli caused a surprise in the first round when beating tenth seed Tommy Paul in three sets. He won the opening set, dropped the second but won the decider 7-5. He's a career high 31st in the live rankings so still in with a good chance of being seeded at the US Open.

The 22-year-old Italian recently reached the final of the Washington hard court tournament and  last week had a win over Felix Auger-Aliassime in Montreal. Cobolli has made it to two other hard court quarter-finals in 2024. 

Luciano Darderi is also aiming to be seeded at the US Open. He's at 34th in the latest ranking list but was two places higher earlier this month. Darderi is down to 37th in the live rankings as he's about to drop points earned when winning a Challenger Tour event last August.

A win here is therefore important for him if he wants to get back into the top 32. He also played in Montreal last week and lost in the first round to Tommy Paul who his opponent here has just beaten. This is only his fourth hard court tournament of the year.

Round one saw him beat Alejandro Tabilo in straight sets. That was his first hard court win of the year. We tip Cobolli to win this match.
