Lucia Bronzetti vs Barbora Krejcikova Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA US Open

Barbora Krejcikova and unseeded Lucia Bronzetti will meet on Tuesday in the first round at the US Open. Bronzetti is in the main draw here for the second successive season and will now target to win her first match. If she does so, it will only be the second time that she has won a match at a Grand Slam. The Italian arrives at Flushing Meadows after her semifinal exit at the Chicago challenger on hard court. She won two matches and by doing so ended a run of six successive defeats. Bronzetti has struggled all through this year. She has a 22-24 record and has lost 11 times in 16 outings on hard court. The 24-year-old is ranked 73rd in the live ranking. This will be her first ever meeting with Krejcikova.

Krejcikova, seeded 12th, made the quarterfinals here two seasons ago. That was her best-ever run in what was her main draw debut. Last season, the former French Open champion was eliminated in the second round. She has struggled in recent outings but will be confident of progressing past this round. The Czech number three has lost her last three matches with two being on hard court. She was defeated in straight sets in her tournament opener in Cleveland in her last outing. That should however do little to dampen her spirits as she is having a decent campaign. Krejcikova has won 25 of the 40 matches she has played, 15 of those wins coming on hard court. Her only title of the season came on the surface in Dubai. She also finished as runner-up in Birmingham on grass. The former world number two is currently up one place to 11th in the live ranking. The winner of this tie will next play either qualifier Eva Lys or wildcard Robin Montgomery.
