The LA Lakers will be at home to welcome the San Antonio Spurs for their next NBA regular season assignment. They come to the match sitting ninth in the Western Conference, 18.5 games clear of bottom-placed San Antonio. The Lakers are coming off a 128-110 defeat to the Warriors that ended a three-game winning stretch. With this being the second game of a back-to-back, they will be eager to make an immediate response. Darvin Ham’s men were in superb form going into the All-Star weekend and won six of seven games. They have compiled a 30-27 record with one of those wins coming against the Spurs. A second win here will see them take the series 2-1. LA will continue to be without LeBron James who is dealing with an ankle issue. He is joined on the sidelines by Christian Wood, Gabe Vincent, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Cameron Reddish. The Lakers are averaging 116.9 points while giving up 117.3.

The Spurs won the last time they faced off with the Lakers. Greg Popovich’s men were 129-115 winners back in December. That win ended an 18-game losing streak, the franchise’s longest-ever losing run. Currently, on a two-game skid, San Antonio will hope to rise to the occasion again and secure their 12th win of the season. This is also the second game of a back-to-back for the Spurs who were defeated 127-122 last time out by the Kings. The visitors are faring much better on the injury front than the Lakers and only have one player listed on the injury report. Centre Charles Bassey has been ruled out for the season with a knee injury. The Spurs are averaging 112 points but are giving up 120.6 a night on average.
