The LA Lakers will host the New York Knicks, seeking an eighth consecutive NBA win. They have moved into the second seed in the Western Conference, whereas their visitors are third in the East. Read on to find our prediction for this match.

Luka Doncic’s blockbuster arrival from the Mavericks has galvanized the Lakers and, in particular, their leader, LeBron James. The veteran has been playing incredibly well and was recently named player of the month in the West.

James and Doncic combined for 64 points in the 136-115 win over the Pelicans last time out. As they are set to embark on a tough four-game road trip after this game, the Lakers will be keen to wrap up their impressive six-game homestand with a win.

The Knicks have been inconsistent lately. Tom Thibodeau’s men have lost three of their last six games. In all three defeats, they fell to teams in great form.

It is interesting to see how they will cope against the highflying Lakers. New York, who have compiled a 40-21 record, were outmuscled 114-102 at home by the Warriors last time out.

The loss snapped a run of three straight wins, a streak that had ended back-to-back defeats to the Cavaliers and Celtics.

Ariel Hukporti is out of this trip, while Precious Achiuwa and O.G. Anunoby are questionable.
