The Los Angeles Lakers have been in fine form over the last couple of months with 18 wins in 22 and are now aiming for a seventh straight victory after edging the Clippers 108-102 on Sunday. 

Luka Doncic arguably had his best game for his new employers, scoring 29 points, nine assists and six rebounds, while Dalton Knecht and LeBron James combined for 36 points. 

The Lakers are mid-table in the scoring charts, averaging 112.7 points per game, but they are a top-10 side on defence, allowing just 111.1 PPG (eighth overall).

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans have found some much-needed form lately and racked up their fifth win in seven by downing the Utah Jazz on the road on Sunday. 

Kelly Olynyk, CJ McCollum, Zion Williamson and Trey Murphy all surpassed 20 points, while as a team, New Orleans shot 52% from the field and made 15 of 44 attempts from the three-point line. 

Still, the Pels are bottom 10 on both ends this season, 21st for points scored (111.0 PPG) and 26th for points against (118.7 PPG).
