Game 5 of the NBA Playoff series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves will come from the Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday night. The Timberwolves nicked Game 4 and lead the series 3-1. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

The Los Angeles Lakers looked to be on course to level the series in Game 4, leading by 10 entering the fourth quarter, but they were blown away 32-19 down the stretch and ended up losing 116-113.

Luka Doncic was excellent again with 38 points, while LeBron James added 27 and 12 boards. Austin Reaves finished on 17 points, but missed three wide-open threes, including one at the buzzer. 

Notably, JJ Redick did not make a single substitution the entire second half. Jaxson Hayes got just four minutes on the court, while the Lakers’ bench contributed only six points combined. 

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves flipped the script in Game 4 to defend their home court thanks to another massive 43-point and nine-rebound contribution by Anthony Edwards.

Aside from Edwards’ attacking prowess, Minnesota’s defence was also impressive, as they grabbed eight more rebounds than their opponents, got eight steals and forced the Lakers into 10 turnovers in Game 4. 

The only real disappointment for the Timberwolves in this series has been the performances of Rudy Gobert, who has largely been a non-factor on offence and still has room for improvement on defence.
