We head back to the Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday night for Game 2 of the NBA Playoff series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Timberwolves beat the Lakers 117-95 in Game 1 to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

If you hadn’t followed the 2024-25 NBA season and tuned in for Game 1 of this series, it would have been difficult to believe that the Lakers finished as the number three seed and Minnesota came through the Play-In tournament. 

Los Angeles produced arguably their worst performance of the season outside of Luka Doncic, who put up 37 points, including a half-court buzzer-beater in the third quarter. However, by then, the side was already down by 19. 

LeBron James also looked out of sorts, managing just 19 points from 18 shots, leaving JJ Redick with plenty to figure out ahead of Tuesday night's encounter. 

Meanwhile, after a turbulent season, the Minnesota Timberwolves found the type of form in Game 1 that reminded onlookers why they reached the Conference final last year. 

The Timberwolves were particularly impressive from the three-point line, draining 21 of 42 attempts, led by Naz Reid, who notched up six threes from just nine attempts en route to 23 points.

Jaden McDaniels led the team in scoring with 25 points, while Anthony Edwards posted 22 points, nine assists and eight rebounds, coming up just short of a triple-double.
