Miami Heat top the Eastern Conference Eastern Division and travel to the LA Lakers. Their opponents are fourth in the Western Conference Pacific Division, three wins behind the Golden State Warriors. Miami are the overall leaders in the Eastern Conference with a 7-3 season record. However, they come into this game having suffered defeats by Boston and Denver in their last three matches. The other game though was an impressive victory over Utah who are second overall in the Western Conference.

The Lakers are having an inconsistent season with a 6-5 record. That has them eighth in the Western Conference, so may end up in the play-ins again for the second season in a row. They have also lost two of their last three games, losing to Oklahoma and Portland before getting a three-point over time win over Charlotte in their most recent match. Two of their last three at home have been won but both were tight matches. They will have LeBron James, Talen Horton-Tucker, Kendrick Nunn and Trevor Ariza and that will make winning this match difficult. There are other injury doubts too, so back Miami to get a narrow win.
