The LA Lakers begin the 2021/22 NBA season with a home game against the Golden State Warriors. The Lakers were champions in 2020 but could only finish third in the Westerm Conference Pacific Division behind the Suns and Clippers.. That meant they had to go into the play-ins where they beat the Warriors. Their title was lost in the first round of the play-offs, going down 4-2 to the Suns. They willl be hoping for a better season this time around. Their preseason didn't go at all well with six defeats but titles aren't won or lost in preseason. LeBron James is in his 19th NBA season now but remains highly motivated. Players such as Russell Westrbook and Anthony Davis will continue to make the Lakers a side that is hard to beat.

The Golden State Warriors had a better season last term than the disastrous one the year before. They ended the regular season 39-33 and fourth in the Western Conference Pacific Division. That's compared t the appalling 15-50 record in the 2019/20 season.  They still have a tough division to play in and will do well to finish high in their divison.. Stephen Curry will again have all the pressure on hm to keep putting in strong performances. The Warriors are in the top four in the betting to win the NBA title this season.  Back the Lakers to get off to a winning start on their home court.
