The LA Lakers will welcome the Denver Nuggets, seeking to return to winning ways. They are currently fourth in the Western Conference and have a two-match advantage over sixth-placed Nuggets. Below is our prediction.

The Lakers saw a six-match winning run come to an end last time out. J.J. Redick’s men, who were entertaining the Magic, saw the third-joint longest winning streak snapped excruciatingly in the final seconds.

LA were ahead by four points with 30 seconds to go but allowed their visitors to score five unanswered points to win 119-118. Their fifth loss of the season held them from moving into third in the West.

LA, who are averaging 117.3 points have won 10 games with seven of those coming at home.

The Nuggets have dominated this matchup with the Lakers, winning 12 of the last 13 encounters. They have twice dumped them out in the playoffs. Going by how both have started this season, chances are they could match up once again in the postseason.

This clash is therefore not just another regular season fixture. The Nuggets have won eight games in 14 outings. They, however, have stuttered in recent games and lost a close battle to the Mavericks last time out.

Denver, who had Nikola Jokic return in Dallas from a three-game absence, are averaging 116.5 points.
