The NL’s top two teams faceoff for the second of a three game series when the Los Angeles Dodgers host the New York Mets at Dodger Stadium. Los Angeles leads the NL West with a record of 34-17 while the Mets’ 35-18 record puts them a massive 9.5 games ahead of second place Atlanta in the NL East. The Mets will be looking to bounce back in this game after being shutout en route to a 2-0 loss against LA on Thursday. The loss snapped a six game winning streak for New York who now fall to 7-3 in their last 10 games. For the Dodgers, the win was just what the doctor ordered after a tough week which saw them get swept at home by the Pittsburgh Pirates. The win snapped a three game losing streak as LA improved its home record to 16-8.

Set to take the mound for the Dodgers is Tyler Anderson, the 32-year-old lefty who has been off to a red hot start to the 2022 season with a 6-0 record and 2.90 ERA. Anderson has been in tremendous form, throwing back-to-back shutouts in his last two starts totaling 14 innings  of work. The Dodgers have won the last three games that Anderson has gotten the starting nod with his last outing a six inning, six strikeout shutout performance against Arizona that the Dodgers won 3-1.
