The Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies see plenty of one another in the regular season, both in the National League West, they clash on Sunday in a spring training matchup. Only the Dodgers and the Yankees have a positive run differential in double figures and both of them are north of 20. The Dodgers' pitching staff has not been quite as strong as their hitting lineup so far but there has been a bit of an overhaul so it is going to look a bit different to what we are used to with players like Walker Buehler starting the season on the injured list but he is likely to be a huge part of what they are going to achieve this year as he comes back from Tommy John surgery. Tyler Glasnow has made a couple of good starts since coming over from the Tampa Bay Rays, but he has struggled to stay healthy throughout his career.

There have been 16 seasons since the Rockies made the World Series but they have only made the postseason three times since with 12 of the other 13 finishing below .500, including the last five. They have made an excellent start to their spring training campaign with Elehuris Montero leading the way with five hits from 14 at-bats which has seen him driving in seven runs. He appeared in 85 games last season for the Rockies and put up fair numbers. If he can kick on from there this year, he can get 50+ extra-base hits which would have been third on the club in 2023. Jake Bird was their most-used bullpen reliever last year, producing a 4.33 ERA in 89.1 innings, a solid return at Coors Field. He has put up three scoreless innings in spring training already.
