Lorenzo Sonego vs Andy Murray Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Qatar Open
by Kennedy Kechula | in Tennis Predictions
Lorenzo Sonego and the wildcard Andy Murray will face off for the first time in their careers when they meet in the first round of the Doha Open on Monday. Sonego is 60th in the ATP ranking, 10 places above Murray. The Italian hasn’t been past the first round here in Doha in his last two appearances and will be eager not to make it three in a row. He however arrives here on a two-match losing run having lost in the first round in Rotterdam and in the quarterfinals in Montpellier. Both matches saw him lose by straight sets. The Italian is experiencing a slow start to the year and has won just three matches which has resulted in him dropping down to 71st place in the live ranking.
Andy Murray hasn’t played a competitive tennis match for more than a month after being eliminated from the Australian Open in the third round. In Melbourne, he looked sluggish and played to five sets in each of his first two matches. He reached the third round at the major for the first time in five years and could possibly be in the form that allows him to advance further in Doha, a competition he has won twice before but that was more than a decade ago.
