A big clash awaits at the Miami Open when Novak Djokovic and Lorenzo Musetti face off. This will be a fourth round meeting, with the winner setting up a match against Gael Monfils or Sebastian Korda. Read on for our prediction.

This Wednesday meeting represents the ninth meeting between the two players. In the initial eight, Musetti managed just one win – on clay in Monte Carlo back in 2023.

Here in Miami, his wins against Quentin Halys and Felix Auger-Aliassime, both in three sets have improved his record to 7-3.

This is his fifth appearance at Miami and the Italian has matched his best by reaching here. At this Masters event, Musetti has won six of 10 matches.

While Musetti will look at his performances here with pride, they are by far dwarfed by Djokovic’s. The Serbian beat Camilo Ugo Carabelli 2-0 in the third round, registering his 411th win at Masters level.

No other player has won that much at the same level. The 24-time Grand Slam champion, a former world number one, had also claimed the Miami title six times.

He is gunning for a record breaking seventh. The fourth seed has beaten Musetti in their two hardcourt meetings and seven of eight in total.

This head-to-head advantage should build his confidence, as he brings into this match a 9-4 record.
