Lorenzo Musetti vs Nicolás Jarry Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cincinnati Open

Lorenzo Musetti makes his return after pulling out of the Rogers Cup in Montreal. The Italian is the 14th seed for the Cincinnati Masters and begins with a first round match against unseeded Nicolas Jarry. Keep reading to discover our match prediction.

Musetti is 18th in the live rankings, a drop of a couple of places. That was caused by his absence from the Montreal tournament. He pulled out of that match because of fatigue and that wasn't at all surprising. The Italian number one has been in great form in recent months.

He won a bronze medal in the men's singles at the Paris Olympics and has reached at least the last four in each of his last five tournaments.Only one hard court quarter-final has been reached so far this year by Musetti. That was back in January when losing in the last eight to Alexander Bublik in Adelaide. 

Nicolas Jarry won the only match played between these two players but it was on clay. He's currently 24th in the live rankings  but was a career high 16th two months ago. Jarry did play in Montreal and lost in his opening match.

That was to Tomas Martin Etcheverry in three sets with two going to a tie-break. Losing that match means he has now lost each of his last five matches. The run began with a defeat in the final of the clay court Rome Masters.

Clay is his best surface but he has had some success on hard courts this year. Jarry made it to the last eight in Adelaide (but only won one match) and another quarter-final in Miami. His current form is a worry though and we tip Musetti to win in straight sets.
