Third seed Lorenzo Musetti begins his Swedish Open campaign on Wednesday with a second-round match against unseeded Matteo Arnaldi. This form has seen him win two of his three challenger titles this season on the surface. Arnaldi is making his debut in Bastad. To set up this encounter with Musetti, he defeated Emil Ruusuvuori, a player ranked more than 20 places above him, in three sets. This has moved him up one place to 74th in the live ranking. Before arriving in Bastad, Arnaldi qualified for the main draw at Wimbledon in what was his debut at SW19. The winner of this match will play either Jozef Kovalik or Filip Misolic in the quarterfinals.
