Lorenzo Musetti vs David Goffin Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Shanghai Masters

Unseeded David Goffin faces 15th seed Lorenzo Musetti in round two of the Shanghai Masters. The winner will face either 24th seed Karen Khachanov or Marcos Giron in the next round. Here's our second round match prediction.

Lorenzo Musetti received a bye into the second round of this hard court Masters event. The italian is 18th in the latest rankings and three places higher in the ATP Live Race. He needs some deep runs in the next few weeks if he wants to qualify for the end-of-season Tour Finals.

Musetti has had an excellent year and won a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. The summer saw him continually reaching semi-finals and finals but that was in grass and clay court tournaments.

He has shown better form on hard courts in recent weeks though and reached the final of the tournament played in Chengdu last month. His most recent event saw him lose in his second match in Beijing.

David Goffin has had three previous matches against his opponent and he lost them all. The most recent of those defeats was their only match played on a hard court and Musetti won that in five sets in the US Open.

Goffin is the world number 66 and this is his first tournament since the US Open. The Belgian showed some good form in August with two hard court semi-finals, one on the ATP Tour in Winston Salem. He then made it to the last 32 of the US Open.

In the first round of this tournament, he beat James Duckworth in straight sets.  We tip Musetti to get the win here.
