Qualifier Arthur Cazaux is up against unseeded Lorenzo Musetti in round one of the Dubai Tennis Championships. The winner of this match will take on either second seed Andrey Rublev or unseeded Zhihzen Zhang. Cazaux is at 86th in the live rankings and needed to win a couple of matches to get into the main draw of this ATP 500 outdoor hard court tournament. The French player did so without dropping a set and beat Giulio Zeppieri in the final qualifying round though he needed a tie-break in the first set. Cazaux reached the last 16 of the Australian Open and before that won a Challenger Tour event. He then got to the last 16 in Montpellier, losing in three sets to Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Lorenzo Musetti is at 26th position in the live list. The Italian has reached one quarter final this year. That was in the Adelaide International but he only had to win one match before being beaten by Alexander Bublik in three sets. Since then he's not made it past the second round of a tournament, most recently losing in his first match in Doha. He was beaten by possible second round opponent Zhihzen Zhang and only won two games, all in the first set. That was his third consecutive loss with only one set being won.
