Lorenzo Musetti vs Alexander Shevchenko Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP French Open

Lorenzo Musetti is seeded 17th at Roland Garros and faces unseeded opposition in round two. He needs to get past Alexander Shevchenko to set up a match with either 14th seeded Cameron Norrie or Lucas Pouille i the last 32. Musetti began this tournament ranked a career high 18th in the world and is up a place in the live rankings. The Italian reached the fourth round at Roland Garros two years ago. It didn't go so well in 2022 though as he lost in the first round. Musetti has had a busy time on clay courts this year with three quarter finals reached and one last four appearance. His semi-final came in Barcelona where he beat both Cameron Norrie and took Stefanos Tsitsipas to three sets. He also beat Novak Djokovic in Monte Carlo and Frances Tiafoe in Rome. The first round at Roland Garros saw him defeat Mikael Ymer in straight sets.

It's a tough match therefore for Shevchenko who was ranked 87th at the start of this Grand Slam. Shevchenko has spent a lot of his year playing on the Challenger Tour and won six matches on his way to losing in the final of a tournament held in Phoenix. That was a hard court event and on clay this year, the Russian has won the Madrid Challenger Tour beating then world number 63 Pedro Cachin in the final. He must love Madrid as he also got to the last 32 in the Masters event held in the Spanish city. He had to go to a fourth set to get past Oscar Otte in the first round of this tournament. That was his first win in the main draw of a Grand Slam event. We go for Musetti to get the win here.
