Lloyd Harris vs Tomas Martin Etcheverry Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Beijing Open

Qualifier Lloyd George Harris takes on unseeded Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the first round of the China Open. Second round opposition for the winner will be either seventh seed Casper Ruud or unseeded Jan-Lennard Struff. Harris is ranked 149th in the latest list but this time two years ago he was a career high 31st. It's not been a great year for the South African who has only won seven of his 18 ATP Tour main draw matches this year. He had to qualify to get into the main draw but did so by only losing seven games in his two matches, including a win over Daniel Altmaier, currently 49th in the rankings. That was his best win for a while and his first victory over a top 100 ranked player since June. His best hard court results in 2023 have been on the Challenger Tour but his form in the qualifiers looks promising.

Tomas Martin Etcheverry is 31st in the rankings, just one place below the career high he achieved three months ago. Last week saw him reach the quarter finals in Zhuhai but he only beat two players ranked outside the top 100. His high ranking owes a massive amount to his performances on clay. Not since January has he had a hard court win over a top 100 ranked player. With only five main draw wins on hard courts this year, we believe he may well struggle and go for Harris to get the victory.
