Liudmila Samsonova vs Iga Swiatek Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA China Open

Second seed Iga Swiatek faces the unseeded Liudmila Samsonova in the hard court China Open final. A win for Swiatek will close the gap between her and world number one Aryna Sabalenka to just 465 points. The Pole is bidding to win her fifth title of the year but the first since winning in Warsaw in late July. Her position at the top of the rankings was lost during the US Open and is now in second position. 11 singles matches have been lost by Swiatek this year and this is only her second final since winning at Roland Garros. The 22-year-old has won two hard court titles this year in Qatar and Warsaw. This week has gone well for her with only Caroline Garica taking a set off her. The semi-final saw her defeat Coco Gauff in straight sets. Swiatek has played Samsonova on two previous occasions. One was in Dubai on a hard court this year with her opponent only winning one game. The other was last year on clay with Swiatek being taken to a final set. 

Liudmila Samsonova is in her third final of the year, all on hard courts. Before this China Open, the Russian had lost in the Abu Dhabi and Montreal finals. She'll hope to do better than in Montreal where only one game was won against Jessica Pegula. Samsonova began this tournament ranked 22nd but is up to 16th in the live rankings. Winning this title will see her climb to 11th which would be one place above her career high. This tournament has seen her only drop a set to Marta Kostyuk. The last four saw her finally face a seeded player and she beat fifth seeded Elena Rybakina in straight sets. We go for Swiatek to get the win.
