The Serbians faced their first and only defeat of the tournament against Italy in the second group phase where they would lose a nail-biter 78-76. They would respond strongly with a 112-79 win over the Dominican Republic in their most recent outing to secure their passage to this stage of the tournament. The victory was the second-highest points total that Serbia has put up at this competition, as they shot an incredible 85% on their two-point field goals and 65% from the field overall. The Eagles have now won eight of their last 10 games overall with their two losses during that stretch both coming against Italy.
