Lesia Tsurenko vs Barbora Krejcikova Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA French Open

Former French Open champion Barbora Krejickova begins her bid to win a second Roland Garros title. The 13th seed faces unseeded Lesia Tsurenko with the winner taking on either Zhu Lin or Lauren Davis. Krejcikova is in the same part of the draw as top seeded Iga Swiatek. However, the Czech has already beaten the world number one this year but that was on a hard court. Krejcikova has had a good year and began this tournament ranked 13th but sixth in the live rankings. The 27-year-old won the Dubai tournament this year, defeating all of the top three players in the world. On clay courts, the Czech has only reached one last 16 but has had some tough opponents including Aryna Sabalenka and Jolene Ostapenko. 2020 saw her reach the fourth round at Roland Garros and then win the title the following year. 2022 didn't go so well with a first round loss but we feel that's not going to happen this year.

Lesia Tsurenko begins this Grand Slam ranked 66th in the world. Not since 2019 has Tsurenko got past the first round at Roland Garros. There has been some success though with the fourth round reached in 2018. However, the 33-year-old has been beaten in the first round on five occasions and also failed to get through qualifying the same number of times. This year has seen her fail to get past the last 32 on clay courts. Her best peformance of the year came in the WTA 125 Thailand Open where she lost in the final. This is her first match against Krejcikova and we believe it'll be a win for her Czech opponent.
