Wang has lost half of her last 10 matches and before arriving in Hua Hin, had managed just one win in five matches. The 23-year-old, who was a finalist in Austin earlier in the year, has put up a 23-23 record thus far.

Despite winning her last match, she dropped a massive 32 places in the live ranking after losing 250 points. She is now placed 94th which is the lowest she has ranked in the WTA this season.
