Oceane Dodin has shown resilience in advancing to this round. The Frenchwoman has been forced to come from a set down in both her matches here. In the last round, she defeated unseeded Marina Melnikova by the loss of 11 games. Despite playing regularly in the ITF circuit, Dodin will hope her form on hard court continues here. She has won 12 of the 15 matches she has played on the surface culminating in one of her three ITF titles. Dodin made the main draw last season for the fourth time in six appearances at this major. The season before that she had lost in this very same round. She is up one place to 117th in the live ranking. The winner of this qualifier will advance to the main draw.
