Laslo Djere vs Stefanos Tsitsipas Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Monte Carlo Masters

Defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas takes on unseeded Laslo Djere in the Monte Carlo Masters third round. Tsitsipas is the third seed for this clay court event and could meet second seeded Alexander Zverev in the quarter finals. The Greek won this title last year and is ranked fifth in the world. 2022 has seen him reach the Australian Open semi-finals and then lose to Felix Auger-Aliassime in the Rotterdam final. Since then, his best performance was getting to the last four in Acapulco. This is his first clay court event of the year and he'll hope for as much success as he had last year. He didn't just win this Masters event but also made it to the final at Roland Garros. Tsitsipas beat Fabio Fognini for the loss of just three games in his first match in the defence of his title.

Laslo Djere is ranked 62nd in the world and probably didn't expect to get further than his fellow Serb, Novak Djokovic. Djere began the year with a quarter final in Adelaide but then lost five matches in a row. That poor run included a loss to Tsitsipas in Acapulco. It was a straight sets loss but both went to a tie-break. A return to clay saw some improvement after more disappointments in Indian Wells and Miami. He got to the last four in Marrakech but didn't beat anyone ranked in the top 80.  This is his third time at Monte Carlo and the first time he's won a match. Three sets were needed to beat Maxime Cressy in round one. He then beat 16th seeded Lorenzo Sonego in straight sets. Djere has won two ATP Tour clay court events, including an ATP 500 event three years ago. He won ten Challenger Tour events on this surface so this won't be too easy for Tsitsipas. The Greek looked good in his opening match and can get a straight sets win.
