The Chile Open will see an unseeded player in the semi-finals. That's because in the last eight of this outdoor clay court tournament, Jaime Faria takes on Laslo Djere. Who will reach the last four? Here's our match prediction.

Seeded opposition will be met in the semi-final. That will be either top seed Francisco Cerundolo or fifth-seeded Tomas Martin Etcheverry.

Jaime Faria is up to a career-high 85th after reaching his second successive clay court quarter-final. He also reached this stage in RIo last week. The 21-year-old has beaten eighth-seed Luciano Darderi and followed that with a come-from-behind victory over qualifier Gustavo Heide with two tie-breaks played.

Laslo Djjere caused a surprise in the last round when beating fourth seed Pedro Martinez. Only five games were lost in that match. It followed up his first round win over wild card Ignacio Buse, also without dropping a set.

The 29-year-old is in his third successive quarter-final and 98th in the live rankings. After reaching the last eight of a hard court Challenger Tour event, he returned to clay. That’s his best surface and earlier this month he made it to the semi-finals in Buenos Aires.

That run included a win over Alejandro Tabilo who’s the second seed in this tournament. We tip Djere to win in straight sets.
