Laslo Djere is the seventh seed for the clay court Swiss Open. He battles the unseeded Arthur Rinderkneck for a place in the semi-finals against either Cristian Garin or Hugo Gaston. Djere is world ranked 52 and climbed up five places in the list published on Monday. He has a good record on this surface, reaching the final in Cagliari this April, losing to Lorenzo Sonego in three sets. Last week saw him get to the semi-final in Hamburg. He beat Nikoloz Basilashvili before being beaten by Filip Krajanovic in the last four. This week has seen him continue his good run of form on clay with wins over Thiago Seyboth Wild and Zizou Bergs the latter being a three-setter match.

Arthur Rinderkneck is ranked the world number 100 but is up to 90th in the live rankings. A win here will take him up to 82nd and it's been a big year for him. 2020 ended with him down at 327th in the rankings. The Frenchman has had success in two ATP events in his homeland. Most notably he got to the last eight on clay in Lyon, beating Jannik Sinner and losing to Cameron Norrie in three sets. Last week saw him get to the last eight in Sweden, losing to Yannick Hanfmann. In this tournament, Rinderkneck has had wins over Dominick Stricker and then second seeded Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets. This is the first meeting between the pair and it's Djere who can be tipped to win the match.
