The Lakers are coming off a disappointing defensive display after giving up 139 points to the surprise Utah Jazz in their most recent loss. They were without LeBron James in that game however and they did get good production from Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook, who chipped in with 29 and 22 points, respectively. The problem for the Lakers is there is very little depth in this team and when they are playing well defensively, they simply cannot score enough to win a shootout. The Clippers, on the other hand, are one of the NBA’s better defensive sides. They’ve also been in a good groove as of late as head coach Ty Lue has his squad playing well, winning four of their last five.
