Wednesday in the NBA sees the Los Angeles Clippers hosting the Charlotte Hornets at the Crypto.com Arena in downtown LA. The Clippers are looking likely to mount a serious playoff run this season as they possess one of the deepest and most talented squads in the NBA. They have won 18 of their 32 games so far this season, placing them fifth in the competitive Western Conference and only two games behind leaders Denver. The Clippers last game was a 102-93 home victory over the Wizards, which was also the team’s fourth victory in the last five games. This is the final game of a five game home stand as Los Angeles are set to kick off a five game road trip with a visit to the 76ers on Friday. 

Standing in their way are the Charlotte Hornets, who have one of the league’s worst records with only eight wins from 31 games so far this year. The Hornets sit second from bottom in the Eastern Conference but did manage to pull off a surprise victory in their last outing. Charlotte upset the Sacramento Kings as double-digit underdogs, winning the game 125-119 to snap an ugly eight game losing streak. They’ll now attempt to make it two wins in a row for just the second time all season in what will be the fourth game of a lengthy six game west coast road trip. They could find it tough however, as the young Charlotte team will be playing their third game in the last four days and look likely to be without one of their key players in Terry Rozier. The 28-year-old missed the win over the Kings and is ruled as doubtful for this game with a hip injury. Meanwhile, the Clippers will be hoping all-star Paul George is good to go for this game and they are also sweating the fitness of Reggie Jackson; both players are listed as questionable.
