The 2024 Indian Premier League has reached the knockout stages, and in the first Playoff of the tournament, we will see the Kolkata Knight Riders take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday afternoon. Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders shared spoils after rain prevented play in their final Indian Premier League group-stage match of the competition. As a result, KKR ended the group stages top of the table with 20 points and a record of nine wins, two draws, and three losses in their 14 games. The Knight Riders have been the pick of the teams in the group stages, with big performances coming from top to bottom of the order. Therefore, despite a mixed performance in the competition, SRH has claimed second place and has an advantage over RR and RCB heading into the knockout stages. The Surisers ended the group stages with eight wins, one draw, and five losses, though they are unbeaten in the last three. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma have been the side’s top contributors with the bat in this competition, currently ranked third and tenth in the race for the orange cap. Thangarasu Natarajan has been the standout with ball in hand, currently on 17 wickets in the competition. While SRH has been excellent this year, they have only beaten this opponent twice in their last six encounters and will need to be at their absolute best to have a chance of upsetting KKR in their current form.
