Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Prediction & Betting Tips - Indian Premier League
by Devesh Jaganath in Cricket Predictions
The historic Eden Gardens will be the venue for match 19 of 70 in the Indian Premier League, and it will feature the hosts, the Kolkata Knight Riders taking on the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday afternoon. The hosts played out what has been the most incredible match of the IPL to date this year in their last match, overcoming the Gujarat Titans in the final over of the match, with Rinku Singh smashing five consecutive sixes in the last five balls of the innings to secure victory for his side. With that win, KKR moved into third place on the table after three matches, with a record of two wins and one loss and a net run rate of +1.375. While Rinku Singh grabbed all the headlines in that last match, we should not forget the contribution of the team's highest run-scorer to date, Venkatesh Iyer, who scored 83 runs in 40 balls and a total of 120 in his three innings. The elusive Sunil Narine was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets for only 33 runs in his four overs. Back at Eden Gardens, where they put on an excellent display to beat RCB less than two weeks ago, the Knight Riders will fancy their chances of picking up their second home win here against an opponent that is still looking for their best form in this tournament.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad didn’t get their IPL campaign off to a good start, suffering back-to-back defeats in their first two matches against the Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants. However, they did manage to pull off an unexpected win over the Punjab Kings in their last match, which saw them move off the bottom of the table into ninth with two points and a net run rate of -1.502 after he first three matches. SRH’s main struggle has been with the bat this tournament, where only Rahul Tripathi has managed to score a single innings total of more than 40 runs so far. The major positive that SRH can take so far in this tournament will be the introduction of Mayank Markande, who took four wickets in his first match against PBKS last time out. Going up against a KKR side that will be feeling incredible after their unbelievable win last time out is going to be a tall order for the visitors here, and they will need to pull off one of the upsets of the tournament to date if they are to get anything from this one.
