Monday’s Indian Premier League action will see the Kolkata Knight Riders taking on the Delhi Capitals in match 47 of the competition. The hosts are in second place in the league standings, while the visitors are sixth. Kolkata Knight Riders made a very strong start to the tournament with three wins in a row, but their form has been mixed since then. They come into this match off the back of an eight-wicket loss against the Punjab Kings. Narine is now up to second place in the orange cap standings, 73 runs behind Virat Kohli. KKR beat this opponent by a massive 106 runs at the start of the month and are the clear favourites in this one. 

In contrast, after a very poor start to the campaign, the Delhi Capitals seem to have found their best form and have pulled themselves back into playoff contention. They are one of four sides tied on ten points, though they have played a game more than the rest. The Capitals last faced the Mumbai Indians on Saturday and secured a ten-run victory in a high-scoring encounter. They set Mumbai a target of 258, with Jake Freser-McGurk playing an absolute blinder, scoring 84 runs in just 27 balls. Tristan Stubbs also played a solid innings finishing on 48* in 25 balls, and Shai Hope contributed a quick-fire 41 in 17. Rasikh Salam and Mukesh Kumar took three wickets apiece in the victory. DC are building up solid momentum and have now won four of their last five games.
